48-year-old man found murdered in Howrah's Salkia; police detain two youths

A 48-year-old man, identified as Debabrata Pal, was found murdered in his flat at 66 Kaibarta para in Howrah’s Salkia area. The incident came to light on Sunday when neighbors heard loud shouting and a commotion coming from the locked flat. Alarmed by the noise, residents knocked on the door, but the flat suddenly went silent, prompting them to alert the local police immediately.

Upon arrival, officers from the Golabari Police Station broke open the door and discovered Debabrata Pal’s lifeless body inside. The deceased had visible injury marks near his eyes and face. In a swift move, the police detained two youths who were found inside the flat at the time of the incident. These individuals are currently being interrogated to determine the motive behind the fatal assault and their relationship with the victim.

Debabrata Pal had been living in the flat with his elderly mother and his daughter since his wife passed away five years ago. On the night of the murder, both his mother and daughter were reportedly away from home, leaving him alone in the residence. Neighbors expressed deep shock at the brutality of the crime, describing the victim as a quiet man who was focused on raising his young daughter.
